Synopsis:
Born in Mochitlán, Guerrero, México, Obed Francisco Bello Jímenez grew up in Oregon and found it difficult to adjust in a community with few Latino people. He learned both English and Spanish, and as a young adult, appreciates knowing both languages. Obed remains connected to his Mexican roots by visiting his family in México, and frequently thinks about his family’s struggles but finds solace in his last name “Bello,” meaning beautiful.

Alexander Evans is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon.

Nacido en Mochitlán, Guerrero, México, Obed Francisco Bello Jímenez crecío en Oregón donde le costo trabajo adaptarse a una comunidad con muy poca gente Latina. Aprendió Inglés y Español, y durante su juventud apreció el saber los dos idiomas. Obed se mantiene conectado a sus raíces Mexicanas visitando a su familia en México, y aunque frequentemente piensa en lo mucho que luchó su familia, también se alienta al pensar en su hermoso apellido “Bello.”
