Synopsis:
The title “El Lugar y el Dolor,” came from a poem that Neyo wrote, which tackles some of the issues highlighted in the film, namely, citizenship, patriotism and the importance of community. Neyo is originally from Venezuela, and after living 14-years in Oregon he decided to apply for U.S. citizenship. Neyo is an active member of the Eugene community and a volunteer firefighter, dedicated husband and father, and advocate for justice.
Producer/Director bio:
Eli Ruth-Cheff is majoring in Latin American Studies, International Studies and Spanish.

El título “el lugar y el dolor” proviene de un poema que Neyo escribió, que aborda algunos de los temas del documental como la ciudadanía, el patriotismo y la importancia de comunidad. Neyo es de Venezuela, y después de vivir 14 años en Oregón, ha decidido solicitar la ciudadanía estadounidense. Neyo es miembro activo de la comunidad de Eugene, bombero voluntario, esposo y padre dedicado. Le gusta abogar por la justicia.
