A note about the film:
The Story of Carlos Enrique Marquez reveals a history of immigration from Colotlán, Jalisco to Parkdale, Oregon, and various other small towns in the Columbia River Gorge. This short documentary highlights Carlos’s positive experience of coming to Oregon as a 4th grader.
The film also gives viewers a look into a contemporary story of fatherhood, immigration, and joining the workforce. Carlos’s difficulties arise in the film within caregiving and the future for raising his son but the overall importance of the film is the story of caring for his son that he has taken from caregiving.
