Los Oaxaqueños de la Sierra Norte
My film features two people from the beautiful Mexican state of Oaxaca. The film is about their journeys to the United States and includes some of the obstacles they faced while traveling to the U.S. The message of the film is to show the realities many have to face when they move from one country to another. The two individuals highlighted in the film are husband and wife, and part of the story also discusses how they met.
Anyone and everyone has a story to tell.
My goal with this film was to tell a story whose subject is frequently not talked about. There is a huge Latino population in the state of Oregon, and it is important to share their stories as part of the history of the state. This film matters because Latinos and their roots matter.
